Hey there, and welcome back to Dr. Eric’s Wellness Chat. I’m Dr. Eric, and today we’re talking about mornings.

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “I’m not a morning person.” Totally fair. But you don’t need to wake up at 5am or do a cold plunge to win your morning. What matters is how intentional you are with those first 15 to 30 minutes.

Let me walk you through a simple morning routine that works for real people with real lives.

First thing: don’t grab your phone right away. Give yourself a little buffer between sleep and screen. Even just 5 to 10 minutes of stillness can set a calmer tone for your day.

Second: hydration. After 7 or 8 hours of sleep, your body needs water. I recommend a tall glass first thing. Bonus points if you add a pinch of sea salt or a squeeze of lemon.

Third: movement. This doesn’t have to be a full workout. A few minutes of stretching, a short walk outside, or even a handful of squats by your bed—anything that wakes up your muscles and joints.

Fourth: fuel. Skip the sugary stuff and aim for something with protein and healthy fat. Eggs, Greek yogurt, a smoothie with nut butter—whatever works for you.

And last: intention. Take a moment to look at your day and set a goal or priority. What do you want to get out of today? One clear intention can really shape how you respond to stress and distractions.

Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect or Instagram-worthy. It just has to serve you. Your morning routine is a chance to take care of yourself before the world needs something from you.

Try it out this week. Start small, be consistent, and see how you feel.
